Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted )
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz) package mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven 350°.
  2. Grease and flour a 9x13 cake pan.
  3. Cream butter adding 1 cup of sugar. Beat until well combined.
  4. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition.
  5. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder,and baking soda.
  6. Mix sour cream and vanilla in a small bowl.
  7. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  8. Spread 1/2 the batter into prepared pan.
  9. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  10. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon sprinkle 1/2 over chips.
  11. Top with remaining batter.
  12. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar.
  13. I usually make more cinnamon sugar and add it in the center layer over the chips.
  14. Bake for 30 minutes until center comes out clean.
