Jewish - Old Family Secret Recipe - Chocolate Chip Mandel Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 12 oz chocolate chips (small bag)
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts (walnuts are fine)

Directions:

  1. Blend butter, sugar & egg.
  2. Mix in remaining ingredients, except chips & nuts.
  3. Then add choc. chips & nuts.
  4. Divide batter into fourths.
  5. Spread on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  7. Pat into loaf & flatten down a little.
  8. Cut into slices immediately.
