  1. Brown beef and onions in large fry pan. Pour off excess fat. Add enough tomato juice to reserved liquid to measure 5 cups. Add to large soup pot. Break up tomatoes and rest of ingredients. Bring to boil. Turn down to a simmer for 2-3 hours stirring every 15 minutes.
