  1. Preheat oven to 425
  2. Butter casserole dish. In a large pot,melt 3Tbs butter and flour over med heat till golden in color to make a quick roux. Roux should resemble the color of peanut butter.
  3. Add mushrooms,onion,garlic,garlic powder,cayenne pepper,heavy cream and chicken stock. Add broccoli,1c of cheese and rice.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour into buttered 11/8 qt. oval casserole dish and top with remaining shreaded cheese. Bake until cheese is melted and golden,about 20 mins.
