  1. Grease asquare slice pan, cover base with foil, and regrease.
  2. Combine butter and sugar, add vanilla essence and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, stir in the sifted flour and coffeee powder, cooled melted chocolate and nuts, then spread into prepared pan
  4. Bake in moderate oven for 30 mins or until firm, leave to cool in pan
  5. Turn out , remove foil carefully and turn right way up, brush hot seived jam over slice, top with frosting and dust with combined sifted icing sugar and cocoa.
  6. Frosting:
  7. Cream butter, vanilla in a small bowl until light and fluffy, gradually add icing sugar a bit at a time
