Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Peel onions then cook in boiling salted water until tender yet firm.
  2. Drain and cool then slice off top third of each onion.
  3. Cut out centers to make cups.
  4. Chop 1/2 cup of the centers and sauté in oil with beef and green pepper for 5 minutes.
  5. Mix in breadcrumbs, chili powder, salt and pepper then fill onion cups with meat mixture.
  6. Place stuffed onions in shallow baking dish.
  7. Top each onion with strips of cheese.
  8. Pour tomato sauce over all and baste occasionally.
  9. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
