Ingredients:

  • 1 (1/2-lb) ham hock, rinsed
  • 1 small red pepper pod
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a large Dutch oven with water to cover; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 40 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Drain well, and cut into wedges to serve.
