Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 (3 oz) package cherry gelatin

Directions:

  1. Mix and sift flour 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cream butter, add sifted ingredients and mix.
  3. Combine slightly beaten egg and milk and add to creamed mixture. Mix well.
  4. Press mixture onto bottom of greased 7 x 11 x 1-1/2 pan.
  5. Press apple slices into dough so they overlap.
  6. Prepare topping:.
  7. Place cherry gelatin in 8 ounce cup and fill cup with sugar.
  8. Cut butter into flour to make coarse crumbs.
  9. Combine crumb mix with gelatin mix.
  10. Sprinkle over apples.
  11. Bake in 350 degree F. oven about 50 minutes.
