Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon blackberry
  • 1 quart boiling water
  • 2 lbs sugar

Directions:

  1. Place berries in large bowl and bruise them up a little by pressing.
  2. Pour the boiling water over the bullied berries.
  3. Let stand for 24 hours, stirring occasionally. I usually stir every 2 hours.
  4. Strain off liquid into a container you can close tightly.
  5. Add sugar, stir, and close tightly.
  6. Let stand for 3 months.
  7. Bottle up and cork.
