Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen blackberries. (thawed and drained)
  • 1 cup of sugar. add extra if wanted to be more sweet.
  • 1 cup of flour .
  • 2 tsp of baking powder . (optional)
  • 1 cup of milk .
  • 1/2 cup of butter. (melted )

Directions:

  1. In medium bowl, stir together blackberries and sugar. Let stand about 20-25 minutes until fruit syrup forms. Heat 375 degrees.
  2. In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder (optional), salt, and milk. Stir melted butter until blended. Spread in ungreased 8-inch square pan. Spoon blackberry mix over batter.
  3. Bake 45-55 minutes, or unti dough rises and/or is golden. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
