  • 1 (15 1/2 oz) can black beans, drained (liquid reserved if necessary)
  • 2 -3 garlic cloves
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • kosher salt (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 1 tbsp cilantro
  • pita bread , wedges or tortilla chips

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Process until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and serve with pita bread wedges or tortilla chips.
  3. Note 1: If you like your hummus a tad thinner, add a teaspoon at a time, additional water or liquid from the can.
  4. Note 2: To make pita wedges, cut each pita into 8 wedges. Arrange on a baking sheet. Bake at 425° for about 6 minutes, turning once.
