Beets in Orange Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 250 g beets, raw
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 1/3 cup maple sugar

Directions:

  1. Scrape and slice beets.
  2. In pan combine beets with salt and water, bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Uncover and cook for 3 minutes longer, until liquid evaporates.
  5. Add margarine, orange slices and syrup.
  6. Cook slowly, turning beets to coat for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately.
