Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Fry the bacon until crisp, drain the fat
  2. Rinse the black and red beans in a colander under cold water
  3. Place ALL beans in a really large glass bowl, add onion, peppers, garlic and mix well
  4. Add the bbq sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and bacon, mix well.
  5. Taste, add more mustard or brown sugar if desired, then the salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer the bean mixture to the aluminum pan(s).
  7. Set up your grill for indirect grilling, preheat to about 175
  8. Toss all the woodchips onto the coals
  9. Place the beans on the center grate, away from the heat, cover the grill
  10. Cook until the beans are thick, and rich, stir and check temp. every 15 minutes
  11. If they start to dry out before they're done, cover with foil.
  12. When done remove and let rest about 15 minutes.
