Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Purchase 16 or so sticks of asparagus, Prep them by washing with cold water and snapping the stem. The stem will break at the point which the asparagus gets hard and tough. Discard bottom stem.
  2. Purchase a normal 1lb package of bacon. you'll only use 1/3 - 1/2 the package.
  3. (optional)
  4. I like to place fresh parsley in the mix . you can use which ever herbs you desire.
  5. Prep
  6. I'll usually sort them all out by length on the cutting board. Pick similar length ones 4 at a time. Drizzle them with a very small amount of olive oil pinch the parsley with them . Finely take your first strip of bacon and wrap around the base. when the bacon runs out take your second strip over lapping until you get to your 3rd strip of bacon going from end to end of the package of 4 asparagus usually 6 long or so.
  7. Wrapping end to end keeps it in a protective barrier away from scorching in the BBQ
  8. Cooking
  9. Take your 4 x 4 neetly wrapped asparagus's to a medium heat bbq.
  10. Rotate every couple minutes. i find they usually take 10-15 minutes to cook. the bacon will be cooked and some pieces even partially crisp but the asparagus almost every time will be perfectly steamed not to hard not to soft.
  11. These are always a hit on our table.
