Bananas With Custard Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/3 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Combine cornstarch and sugar in double boiler; stir in milk.
  2. Place over low direct heat; cook until mixture thickens slightly,
  3. Stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir a small amount of hot milk mixture into egg yolks; stir egg yolks into hot milk mixture.
  6. Place over boiling water; cook stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
  7. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  8. Chill throughly.
  9. Peel bananas ; cut into chunks.
  10. Place in serving bowl or individual dishes.
  11. Pour custard sauce over bananas.
  12. Whipped cream can be added as a garnish.
