Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190C).
  2. Butter a 9 inch square baking pan.
  3. Peel, core and slice the apples into 1/3 inch slices.
  4. Toss them in a large bowl with the lemon juice to prevent discolouration.
  5. Layer the apples in the baking pan.
  6. Combine the flour, oats, walnuts, coconut, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, salt and vanilla.
  7. Add the butter and cut in until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  8. Sprinkle over apples and bake in the middle of the oven for 35-40 minutes; or until topping is browned and apples are tender.
