Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour , sifted
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup light cream or 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.
  2. In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar together until thick and lemon colored.
  3. Add eggs, beating until light.
  4. In a seperate bowl sift flour with baking powder and salt.
  5. Add dry ingredients alternately to the batter with the cream (or milk), beating until batter is smooth.
  6. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 12-inch pan.
  7. Insert apple slices so that the outer edges are up.
  8. In a small cup combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon.
  9. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over top of apples.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
