Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

Directions:

  1. Put apples and 1/2 cup sugar in a 3 litre casserole.
  2. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Cream margarine and 1/2 cup sugar.
  4. Stir in egg.
  5. Stir in the vanilla.
  6. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk, ending with dry ingredients.
  7. Spoon over apples.
  8. Combine brown sugar and flour.
  9. Stir in margarine, vanilla and hot water.
  10. Pour over the batter, holding a spoon under it to disperse the water.
  11. Do not stir.
  12. Bake, uncovered, at 350F.
  13. For 45 minutes or until apples are soft and pudding is firm to the touch.
