Annie's Fabulous Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steaks
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 -2 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 1 (10 oz) can beef consomme
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika

Directions:

  1. Meat and Vegetable Mixture:.
  2. Remove fat from steak and cut into pencil thin strips.
  3. Dredge meat lightly with flour, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Saute onion with mushroooms and garlic in butter for 5 minutes.
  5. Add beef, and more butter, if needed.
  6. Turn heat to high and toss meat continously for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Remove meat, onions, and mushrooms with garlic, and keep warm.
  8. Reserve 2 tbs drippings.
  9. Make sauce.
  10. Sauce:.
  11. Use 2 tbs drippings and blend in flour.
  12. Add consomme and stir until smooth and thickened.
  13. Add sour cream, and salt and pepper; keep heat low so cream will not curdle.
  14. Add paprika and Worcestershire sauce.
  15. Just before serving, add beef and vegetables and heat thru together.
  16. Serve over noodles (my favorite) or rice.
