Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp anise oil or 1/4 tsp extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 5 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream butter, sugars and eggs.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Roll into snakes.
  4. Cut into bite size pieces.
  5. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes (depending on desired crunch).
