Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
  • 1 1/8 cups sugar
  • 1 1/8 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 2/3 cups oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 tbsp butter or 4 tbsp margarine

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter and sugars and eggs in mixing bowl. Add peanut butter, vanilla.
  3. And flour. Blend well, add the soda, salt and the oatmeal. Spread in a 15x10 pan,(cookie sheet) and bake for 20 minute at 350.
  4. Blend together frosting ingredients, may need to add a little more milk.
  5. Note: You may want to add chocolate to these bars, if so just sprinkle about a cup of chips onto bars about 2 minutes after taking them out of the oven, wait a couple of minute and spread the chips. Wait until set or refrigerate before frosting.
