Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tbsp of almond extract
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of flour
  • glaze : (optional; or sprinkle with desired amount of confectioner's sugar)
  • 4 tbsp of butter
  • 2 cups of confectioner's sugar
  • 2 tbsp of milk
  • 1/4 tsp of almond extract

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs; beating each separately before adding.
  3. Add almond and vanilla extracts and flour.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes in Bundt pan or 2 small loaf pans.
  5. Remove from pan and allow to cool completely.
  6. Melt butter in a saucepan or microwave.
  7. Place powdered sugar into a medium size bowl.
  8. Add the melted butter to the powdered sugar.
  9. Add milk.
  10. Add 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract or 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.
  11. Beat until smooth and creamy, adding a little more milk if necessary.
  12. Drizzle over cake.
