Ingredients:

  • 11 cups water
  • 5 cups pinto beans
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 6 cloves garlic crushed

Directions:

  1. In a colander rise and clean beans.
  2. In a large pot combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil
  3. Once at a boil cover and put on low for 2 hours.
  4. Mash if desired and garnish with freshly chopped onions.
  5. Just a side note if you soak the beans overnight and rise them in the morning they will not be as gassy.
