Ingredients:

  • 1 slice bacon
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice bread
  • knob butter
  • 3 slices bread

Directions:

  1. The breakfast, apart from the eggs, potatoes and fried bread which are better fried, can be grilled if you prefer. Get everything ready before you actually start cooking: prick the sausages, de-rind the bacon, wash and halve the tomato, wash the mushrooms, and slice the potatoes. Warm a plate, put the kettle on ready for tea or coffee, get the bread ready to make the toast, and you're all set to start.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan over a moderate heat and fry the sausages gently, turning occasionally, allowing 10-20 minutes for them to cook according to size. When the sausages are half-cooked, put the bacon in the pan with them and fry for 1-5 minutes with the sausages, until they are cooked to your taste. Push the sausages and bacon to one side or remove and keep warm. Put the potato slices into the pan and fry until crispy. Fry the tomato and mushrooms at the same time, turning them occasionally until cooked (about 4-5 minutes).
  3. Remove the food from the pan and keep hot. Break the eggs into a cup, and slide into the hot fat in the pan over a low heat. Fry them gently until cooked. Remove them from the pan and put them with the bacon, sausages, etc. Cut the slice of bread in half, and fry in the fat in the pan, adding a little extra oil or butter if necessary, until golden and crispy, turning to cook both sides (1-2 minutes). Remove from the pan and put onto the plate with the rest of the breakfast. Make the toast, coffee or tea, and eat at once.
