Ingredients:

  • 2-1/2 cups flour
  • 2-1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dry wine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 then grease two large baking sheets.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a large bowl beat eggs and 1/2 cup of the sugar until well blended.
  4. Beat in 1/4 cup wine, oil and vanilla then stir in dry ingredients.
  5. Divide dough into 6 pieces and cut each one into 8 pieces.
  6. Roll each piece between your palms into 4” log and shape into ring pinching edges together.
  7. Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar and remaining 1/4 cup wine in two small bowls.
  8. Dip one side of each cookie first in wine then in sugar.
  9. Place cookies sugar side up 1” apart on baking sheets then bake 20 minutes.
  10. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
