Wilted Lettuce

Ingredients:

  • 1 large bowl of fresh clean garden picked lettuce pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 small white onion diced small
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp sugar

Directions:

  1. Break lettuce into a large bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to bacon fat in frying pan.
  3. Bring this to a boil stirring constantly then pour over the lettuce.
  4. Toss lightly with salad fork and spoon until the lettuce is wilted.
