Wholesome Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour (all-purpose may be substituted)
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2-3/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts (optional)
  • 1/2-3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, honey, egg, vanilla.
  2. Sift together dry ingredients and then blend into creamed mixture.
  3. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips, if desired.
  4. Spoon 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly brown; do not overbake.
  6. Cool slightly; remove and place on rack to cool.
