Wholesome Peanut Butter Cookies

These peanut butter cookies are made with whole wheat flour and honey and are very chewy!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup honey
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour (all-purpose may be substituted)
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2-3/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts (optional)
1/2-3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:
1. Cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, honey, egg, vanilla.
2. Sift together dry ingredients and then blend into creamed mixture.
3. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips, if desired.
4. Spoon 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly brown; do not overbake.
6. Cool slightly; remove and place on rack to cool.
