Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup milk , plus an additional
  • 2 tbsp milk (1 1/4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 tsp shortening (2 teaspoons)
  • 1 1/3 cups whole wheat flour (2 cups)
  • 2/3 cup bread flour (1 cup)
  • 2 tsp brown sugar (1 tbsp)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (3/4 teaspoon)
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast (1 teaspoon)

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to your bread machine in the order recommended by its manufacturer.
  2. Use the whole wheat setting if available.
