White Chocolate Bread Pudding New Orleans

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 loaf of french bread- sliced into 1/4 inch slices and dried in the oven
  • optional garnish
  • 2 tbsp chocloate shavings
  • white choclate sauce( see recipe )
  • berry wine sauce
  • 8 oz whitew choclate

Directions:

  1. Heat cream in a double boiler
  2. Melt chocolate in the cream and whisk smooth
  3. In another double boiler, heat the eggs, yolks, milk and sugar and whisk smooth until warm- do not boil
  4. Blend egg mixture gradually in the warm milk mixture
  5. Place bread in a 9 x 13 pan.
  6. Pour over half of the chocolate mixture and let bread soak up mixture
  7. Then pour on remaining mixture, making sure bread is covered and soaked well
  8. Cover pan with foil
  9. Bake in a 275F ( yes) oven for 1 hour
  10. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 mins or so until top gets browned a bit
  11. Remove from oven to cool
  12. Make the sauce: Melt white chocolate and cream in a doble boiler and whisk smooth.
  13. Place berry sauce on a plate
  14. Lay on a piece of warm bread pudding
  15. Pour chocolate sauce over pieces of pudding
  16. Garnish with shaving of white or dark chocolate if desired
  17. Note: pudding may be frozen, reheats well
