Walnut Apple Cake With Butter Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • walnut halves (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla; mix well(batter will be stiff).
  2. Stir in apples and walnuts,.
  3. Spread into a greased 13 x9- inch baking pan.
  4. Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes, or until cake tests done.
  5. Cool on a wire rack.
  6. For Sauce:.
  7. Combine sugar, flour, milk, and butter over medium heat.
  8. Stir in vanilla.
  9. Cut cake into squares; top with warm sauce.
  10. Garnish, if desired with walnut halves.
