Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Combine dry ingredients; add to the egg mixture and mix well (batter will be stiff).
  3. Stir in apples and walnuts.
  4. Spread into a greased 13-in x 9-in x 2-in. baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool on a wire rack.

  8. For the sauce, combine sugar, flour, milk and butter in a saucepan.
  9. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil and stir for 2 minutes.
  10. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla.
  11. Cut cake into squares; top with warm sauce.
  12. Garnish with walnut halves if desired.
  13. Yield: 12 - 15 servings.
