Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
  2. Grease 9? x 13? pan.
  3. Mix together dry ingredients. (When I make this, I frequently measure the dry ingredients a second time into an airtight container and put it in the pantry. Then I can use it sometime when I am in a hurry. I keep a list of the remaining ingredients and the baking temperature and time on the container, so that I don?t even have to pull out the recipe. I can just add the remaining ingredients and bake!) Add liquid ingredients and stir well. Pour into prepared pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 - 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. You can frost or top with powdered sugar.
