Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Puree whole tomatoes or crushed tomatoes in blender or food processor. I prefer to have a few timy pieces of tomatoes so that it isn't totally smooth.
  2. Melt butter In a large pan.
  3. Add tomatoes to pan leaving about 1 cup still in blender or food processor.
  4. Place basil in blender or processor and blend to chop up basil.
  5. Pour remaining tomatoes and basil into pot and add tomatoe juice.
  6. Stir in cream and heat. Do not boil.
  7. Salt and peper to taste.
  8. Can add non fat whipping cream in place of heavy cream and adjust amount of basil to taste.
