Three Layer Corn Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 teasp. baking powder
  • 1/2 teasp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4--1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 3 cups milk

Directions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients.
  2. Combine wet ingredients
  3. Mix together
  4. The mixture will be quite watery
  5. Pour into a greased 9'' x 9'' pan
  6. Bake 50 min at 350' or until the top is springy
  7. One batter makes 3 layers. the corn meal settles to the bottom. the bran rises to the top, and in the middle you will have a custardy layer.
  8. Sometimes I would add the extra honey and serve fresh strawberries on top.
