Ingredients:

  • 1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups white flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 1 lb confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Batter:.
  2. Put margarine (or butter), water and cocoa in a large pan and bring to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat and add the rest of the batter ingredients.
  4. Mix with electric mixer until smooth.
  5. Pour into an 11 x 16 x 1.5-inch jelly roll pan.
  6. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  7. Frosting:.
  8. Bring margarine (or butter), cocoa, and milk to a boil.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in confectioners' sugar and nuts.
  10. Add vanilla.
  11. Pour on cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
