Ingredients:

  • 675 g lean pork
  • 2 1/2 ml salt
  • 15 ml cornflour
  • oil , for deep-fryiung
  • 5 ml cornflour
  • 60 ml water
  • 30 ml sugar
  • 30 ml vinegar
  • 30 ml soy sauce
  • 2 1/2 ml oil

Directions:

  1. Start with the sauce, Blend the 5 ml cornflour with the water and mix it with the sugar, vinegar, tomato puree, orange juice and soy sauce.
  2. Fry the chopped pinepple in the oil for 1 minute. Add this to the sauce.
  3. Cut the pork into 2 cm cubes. Sprinkle with salt and toss in the 15 ml cornflour.
  4. Heat the oil in the fryer until a crumb will sizzle vigorously in it. Deep-fry the pork for 4 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Heat 15 ml oil in a wide pan. Deseed and slice the green pepper and fry it quickly for 30 seconds. Lower the temperature add the sauce and cook for 1 minute., Add the pork and cook together for 1 minute. If the sauce seems too thick add a little water before serving.
