Ingredients:

  1. Huckleberry Sauce
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  4. 2 cups huckleberries
  5. 1/3 cup water
  6. 2 tablepoons lemon juice
  7. Combine sugar and cornstarch in pan; stir in berries. Add water and lemon juice. Stir while cooking until thickened.
  8. To serve, sprinkle whipped cream with dash of nutmeg or mace; add a fresh pansy or sprig of peppermint herb on the plate.
  9. Add a ham slice and fruit cup to this menu.
