Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 6 yams

Directions:

  1. Steam yams in one inch of water(do not overcook).
  2. Cool and slip off the skins.
  3. Place flat side up in shallow baking dish.
  4. Make a few small knife slits in each yam.
  5. Combine ingredients in a saucepan.
  6. Heat on medium for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Pour over yams.
  8. Sqeeze lemon juice over yams.
  9. Bake 20 to 30 minutes uncovered.
