  6. Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  7. Beat in eggs.
  8. Add dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk and mix just until smooth.
  9. Fold in apples and nuts.
  10. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Top with streusel mixture.
  11. Bake 50 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
