Spicy Louisiana Shrimp & Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to boil in medium pot.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of cajun or creole seasoning.
  3. Add shrimp, bring back to boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove shrimp, strain and reserve 5 tablespoons shrimp broth.
  5. Chill in refrigerator.
  6. This can be done a day ahead of time.
  7. Place cream cheese, reserved shrimp broth and lemon juice in bowl.
  8. Beat mixture until smooth.
  9. Add onion powder, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt and cayenne pepper and continue beating mixture until completely blended.
  10. Fold in cooked shrimp, green onions and parsley.
  11. Serve with chips and crackers.
