Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 (1/4 oz) package active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups tepid water

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl or jar, mix the yeast with the water.
  2. If you are using active dry yeast, let the mixture stand for about 10 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle the flour onto the yeast mixture and whisk it in to form a thick batter.
  4. It is not essential for the batter to be smooth.
  5. Cover it with plastic wrap and let the batter stand in a warm (80-85°F) place for about 24 hours, or until it is frothy.
