Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp milk

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Grease tube pan (10x4 inches) or 12 cup bundt pan.
  3. Prepare the apple nut filling and reserve.
  4. Beat sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs in 3 quart bowl on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 2 minutes.
  5. Beat in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt alternately with sour cream on low speed.
  6. Spread 1/3 of batter (about 2 cups) in pan: sprinkle with 1/3 of filling. Repeat 2 times.
  7. Bake until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean, about 1 hour. Cool 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan and frost with glaze.
