Sour Cream Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup. butter
  • 1 1/2 cup. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup. bananas, mashed
  • 4 cup. flour (plus 2 tbsp.)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup. sour cream
  • 1 cup. chopped walnuts , optional
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and beat.
  3. Add bananas and beat.
  4. Mix dry ingredients together (baking powder, baking soda and flour).
  5. Add the well-mixed dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  6. Beat until smooth.
  7. Stir in chopped nuts last.
  8. Pour into 2 large greased and floured loaf pans and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or less at 350 degrees. To test for doneness, insert a sharp knife into center of bread. If it comes out clean, bread is done.
  9. This bread is very moist and freezes well.
