Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Prepare leeks and keep them whole.
  2. Skin onion and chop finely.
  3. Melt 1/2 of the butter and fry leeks and onion until leeks are just gilded and onion is transparent.
  4. Transfer to ovenproof casserole which will hold the leeks in 2 layers.
  5. Pour tomato juice over leeks.
  6. Combine Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and sugar and mix well.
  7. Drizzle over tomato juice.
  8. Dot with remaining butter.
  9. Cover casserole and bake at 350 for 1 hour.
