Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cup sugar ( according to taste)
  • 3 cups water
  • pinch of yellow/red food color(optional)
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Directions:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a frying pan or wok.
  2. Add semolina and fry on medium heat until golden in colour and it gives out an aroma of roasting semolina.
  3. Remove from the pan and keep aside.
  4. Combine remaining ghee,sugar and water in the same pan and cook on medium heat until sugar is dissolved.If using food color,add along with water.
  5. Add cardamom and 3/4th of the nuts;cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add semolina and cook for 2-3 minutes,stirring frequently(make sure there are no lumps).
  7. When the mixture becomes thick and begins to come off the pan,take it out in a serving bowl.
  8. Garnish with remaining nuts.Serve hot.
