Savory Cheese and Green Onion Scones

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup green onion, sliced thinly
  • 1/2-2/3 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400*.
  2. Grease and flour baking sheet.
  3. Stir together flour, baking powder,sugar, thyme, dry mustard and salt.
  4. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  5. Stir in cheese and green onion.
  6. Mix buttermilk and egg together in a small bowl.
  7. Mix together wet and dry.
  8. Do not over mix.
  9. Add more buttermilk if necessary.
  10. Roll out dough and cut as desired.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes at 400*.
