  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk and sage just until warm (do not boil); set aside to cool. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture.
  2. Pour into a greased 8-in. x 4-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Yield: 6 servings.
