Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar using an electric mixer.
  3. Add vanilla,scraping down bowl as needed.
  4. Blend in flour,mixing until thoroughly combined.
  5. Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into small balls about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Place dough balls on lightly greased cookie sheets about 1 inch apart.
  7. Press down the center of each ball with a spoon,forming a depression.
  8. Fill each with a teaspoonful of preserves or nuts.
  9. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Transfer cookies to a cool, flat surface.
  11. When cookies are cooled dust them lightly with confectioners sugar.
