Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups flour , sifted
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp hot water

Directions:

  1. Cream together sugar, butter and eggs.
  2. Add dry ingredients.
  3. Add hot water.
  4. Add dates and nuts.
  5. Drop dough by teaspoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake in preheated 350°F oven until golden brown, 10-12 minutes.
